Leed® certification
LEED® is a voluntary certification program addressing the life cycle of a building, from design to construction and long-term operation.
The LEED (Leadership in Energy Environmental Design) certification is an assessment and certification system for buildings developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). The system is based on the assignment of ‘credits’ for each requirement, leading to 4 levels of classification: Certified, Silver, Gold, Platinum.
LEED promotes a sustainability-oriented approach, recognizing building performance in key areas, such as energy and water conservation, reduction of CO2 emissions, improvement of the ecological quality of interiors, materials and resources used, and design and site selection.
The LEED certification is the most prestigious global standard for eco-friendly structures (currently applied in 40 different countries).
